Communities along the Darling River will argue that the entire catchment is special and unique. We agree.
However, the communities will also agree that some places are particularly interesting and well worth exploring to get a better understanding of this mighty river and its natural resources.
This section includes a selection of some of those special places as identified by people along the Darling River. They cover a range of interests including natural resources; cultural heritage; the environment; lakes and wetlands; native fish; national parks; history; tourism; unique towns; bridges and of course, rivers.
It is not a complete list and we are happy to list other special places as we become aware of them.
